About WhiteScreen.download

WhiteScreen.download is a small collection of browser based screen tools: solid colour full screens, a set of harmless prank and simulated OS screens, and browser based image export tools. There is no account system and nothing to install.

Why this exists

A blank, full brightness screen is one of the more useful things a computer can show you, and most people only ever get one by accident , a crash, a loading screen, a blank tab. This site turns it into something you open on purpose: a dead pixel check, a soft light for a video call, a background to project onto, or just a plain colour to download.

What the tools actually do

Every colour screen fills the display with one flat colour and can go fullscreen with a single button. The download option renders that same colour in your browser at the size and supported format you choose. The full technical explanation is on the How Our Screen Tools Work page; the short version is that nothing is uploaded anywhere to produce a screen or a file.

The prank and simulated OS screens are visual only. None of them changes a setting, installs anything or affects your device , each of those pages says so directly, and Terms of Use covers the same point in one place.

What this site is not

• Not a calibration tool. A solid colour shown on your screen tells you how your particular panel is rendering that colour, not whether it is accurate. Colour calibration needs a hardware sensor.
• Not a hardware diagnosis. The colour and test screens can make a dead pixel, stuck pixel or backlight issue visible. They cannot tell you why it happened or whether it is covered by warranty , that is a conversation with the manufacturer.
• Not a darkroom safelight, a stage light, or any other purpose built lighting equipment. A monitor is a soft, convenient light source and nothing more specialised than that.
